The first egg
Over the last couple months we have been caring for our friend’s chickens while they are searching for land and a new home. They have been a lovely addition to our flock and we have loved having them here. Yesterday we had a nice Christmas surprise. Penny laid her very first egg! It was beautiful. We have already collected a second egg today, that is equally beautiful. Her eggs have a lightly pink color and are speckled with white. They have been perfectly shaped and pretty large too. We are looking forward to hatching a few of her eggs soon, so stay tuned for that process. Our own chicks are now 10 weeks old and growing more everyday. We should have farm fresh, organic eggs (both for hatching and eating) for sale just in time for Easter! Chickalynn enjoying a walk in the snow
